Women's Cycling Race

Today my dad and I ventured out to support the women’s cycling race in England. We found a perfect space to catch them after the sprint just before the finishing line. This is something I would have loved to taken part in if I had the time to train and work on my stamina, so obviously I was very excited to see it in the flesh. They whizzed past and even though it lasted only a few seconds it was still 100% worth it.

Oil painting

These amazing paintings are by Shaina, who is currently attending The New York Academy of Art. She has a fascination for the human body, which is clearly shown in her work. What drew me to her work is that not only does she duplicate the image but also as seen in the image below she adds an extra colour making it vibrant and misleading. If you look closely there are actually more layers than first thought, these do not fit making the painting even more intriguing as I want to figure how it fits together.

The adventure

Today I met up with my friend Sophia. She is.. Well .. Pretty mad and crazy like me and up for anything!

Recently I have been inspired to get back on my skateboard, but after at least 5 years my skill has drained away.

Therefore, this was the goal of the day to learn how to skate again!

Amazingly we both achieved this, but our journey wasn't simple.

We decided to go on an adventure to find the inner skateboarder in us. And this consisted of trampling around the English countryside (I know not that adventurous). We were keen and ready for a crazy spur of the moment walk. We clambered over fallen trees, through fields and even crawled under bushes! Eventually we started to get blisters and thought this to be a very bad idea as also my phone had run out of battery (it was our map). However we continued forward! These fields are right in my back garden and I was certain that I new the way, but somehow I had misjudged our position, resulting in us getting... Lost. In the end we had to ask this lovely lady who lived in a cottage in the middle of nowhere so we could get our bearings. If it were not for her my feet would be hurting a lot more than they are now.

Fortunately, we got home having learnt our lesson to only go on adventures when we have food water and correct walking shoes.!! However, like I said by the end we both can now skateboard (wobbly) making us feel like we achieved our goal.

Little Comets Concert

Concert: Little Comets
Venue
: Electric Ballroom, Camden
Date:
February 20th 2014

This has to be one of the best concerts i have ever been to!(Not saying i have been to many)But this has to be one of my best experiences so far.

The band play exceptionally well live, including the audience and showing energy and excitement. This really boosted the atmosphere, with screams at the beginning of nearly every song.

However, i feel that it doesn't matter how good the band is, a concert can never be as good unless you have friends that enjoy and love the band standing (sorry let me correct myself) jumping and screaming next to you.
